In Polynesian culture, tattoos are much more than just skin-deep, they are a spiritual journey a rite of passage.
The healing rituals are all about working with the body not against it and understanding the difference.
This is my Experience
***A Heritage of Healing..,
My parents were natural healers, I grew up understanding the magic of nature. My mum an alternative healer and my dad, a tribal hunter/gatherer and master carver, taught me how to work intimately with nature and access its healing powers.
***Skinning…
My father had me working with skin at the age of 5 stripping and cleaning pelts to support our family. We lived off our hunting. The skins had to be perfectly clean and supple so we’d get the most money for them, back then we’d make $1.00 a pelt. It was hard work, we’d be hunting during the coldest months as the fur was at its thickest then.
After a lifetime of working in Skin, the skills passed on to me as a child still support me now and I’m proud to say I am extremely privileged and enjoy a successful career I know my father especially would be proud of. My skins pay alot more than $1:00 now .. although the work is still hard, there’s never any comparison.
Their wisdom has always been my strength, inspiration and motivation.
***Skinning to Tattooing…
I turned into a Tattooer like a caterpillar transforms, I now live my purpose and accept the destiny my ancestors aligned me with, ‘to Tattoo’.
Tattooing is just one more cultural facet of working in skin. Drawing always from my culture for sustainance in this world I have become highly skilled at Tattoo and continue to learn through and from Skin as a natural progression of my cultural and personal evolution.

*** Then this happened
I am extremely fastidious about my Tattooing and equally about the Aftercare. It didn’t make sense for me to be not to care for my clients as much after the Tattooing is done as during, so I formulated my own Tattoo Aftercare products that have the skin healed over my ink in 2-3 days!
***My Cleansing Foam
I created a Cleansing Foam that lays a blanket of velvety foam protecting the freshly tattooed skin from abrasion in the cleansing process. It retains its consistency just one application needed for a perfect clean. It has an earthy but elegant scent and leaves a lightly moisturised finish throughout leaving the skin cleansed, supple and fresh.
***My Tattoo Butter (I’m still working on the name)
Is made to compliment the foam with the same calming scent and properties.
Understanding what the skin goes through during the tattoo process has given me insights into creating what I consider the perfect healing balm.
