When assessing a cover-up tattoo, I look at every detail — skin texture, scar tissue, the age and density of the existing tattoo, complications and complexities. This will determine whether the new design will realistically achieve the best possible result. Every cover-up project is different, and in some cases scar tissue can even become part of the final artwork, adding extra depth and character to the piece.
